Thank you for your interest in debating in 2025, we hope that your students are as excited for regionals as we are! On Wednesday 26th February from 7-9pm the New Zealand Schools’ Debating Council is running an ‘Introduction to Debating’ zoom workshop for any interested student or teacher.
The first hour (7-8pm) will be targeted at students who are new to debating, and will cover the basic structure and rules of debates, and the role of each speaker.
The second hour (8-9pm) will be targeted at students who have some experience debating, and would like to learn more advanced strategies, and information about selection for regional teams and development squads.
A recording of the session will be sent out afterwards if students can’t make it, however, we would encourage you to join live if possible as there will be interactive exercises and a Q&A opportunity.
